Organic pepitas come from the inside of the pumpkin seed. Small and green in colour, they have a mild nutty flavour and are a good nutritious snack. They can also be used in baking, or sprinkled in your favourite soup, salad, muesli or breakfast cereal. Pepitas are high in protein, along with some valuable minerals such as magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc and iron. Like most seeds and nuts, they contain predominantly polyunsaturated fat and being a plant food contain no cholesterol.
